Transportation Project Requests
 
Requesting Entity:         City of Indianapolis
Amount of Request:       $8,000,000
Project Description:        Funding would be used to conduct environmental review and allow for initial design reports for the upgrade and rehabilitation of the Belt Railway in Indianapolis, IN.  While this funding request is for the first phase, the eventual project will include an upgrade of the rail line for passenger service and the relocation of the fright traffic line. 
 
Requesting Entity:         City of Indianapolis
Amount of Request:       $2,800,000
Project Description:        Funding would be used for the design and construction of an addition to the Cultural Trail in Indianapolis, IN.  This project will facilitate the movement of bicyclist and pedestrians through the IUPUI Campus from Indiana Ave to Old Washington St, incorporating a portion of the White River State Park. 
 
Requesting Entity:         City of Indianapolis/IUPUI
Amount of Request:       $2,400,000
Project Description:        Funding would be used for detailed planning, design and environmental studies for the rehabilitation of Blackford St from Indiana Ave to New York St and runs though the heart of the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. 
 
Requesting Entity:         City of Indianapolis        
Amount of Request:       $8,600,000
Project Description:        Funding would be used for the design, construction and rehabilitation of the Meridian St Bridge over the White River in Indianapolis, IN.  This site is the confluence of the most significant north-south street and the largest body of water in Indianapolis and it lies on a major commuter route.  The rehabilitation of this bridge will ensure that traffic disruptions are kept to a minimum. 
 
Requesting Entity:         City of Indianapolis        
Amount of Request:       $3,200,000
Project Description:        Funding would be used to for design and to conduct an environmental review for the rehabilitation of South St from West Street to Delaware St in Indianapolis, IN.  This funding would be for the first phase of a project that will eventually include minimal widening of South Street to better accommodate bicycles and pedestrians, turn lanes and minimal streetscaping.    
 
Requesting Entity:         City of Indianapolis
Amount of Request:       $2,400,000
Project Description:        Funding would be used for initial design, scoping and planning for the rehabilitation of Washington St in Indianapolis, IN.  This project will lay the groundwork for an upgrade of Washington Street from I-465 West to I-465 East that would include improved streets and drainage, new sidewalks, better access to public transportation and modest streetscape enhancements. 
 
Requesting Entity:         City of Beech Grove      
Amount of Request:       $20,763,200
Project Description:        Funding would be used for a roadway interconnectivity project in Beech Grove, IN, that will improve streets and infrastructure while also improving community access to green space and recreational areas.  These upgrades will enhance access to and within Beech Grove, making the community more appealing to business and increasing the quality of life of all the citizens. 
 
Requesting Entity:         Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation (IndyGo)
Amount of Request:       $38,654,400
Project Description:        These funds would be used to purchase 93 new buses for the IndyGo fleet.  Currently, IndyGo maintains a fleet of 157 fixed-route buses that are nearing the end of their vehicle lifespan and will need to begin being replaced over the course of the next six years.  This funding request would allow IndyGo to start replacing these buses and continue to maintain a safe and reliable bus fleet. 
 
Requesting Entity:         Clarian Health Partners
Amount of Request:       $15,921,978
Project Description:        Funding would be used for the construction of an intermodal transportation facility on the campus of Indiana-University-Purdue University Indianapolis.  This project will have a parking facility, intermodal station and walkway that will connect commuters via car or city bus to the People Mover in downtown Indianapolis. 
 
Requesting Entity:         Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority
Amount of Request:       $4,000,000
Project Description:        Funding would be used for environmental studies, preliminary engineering and construction management for the Indianapolis Northeast-Downtown Corridor Project.  This project will facilitate the introduction of fixed guideway commuter rail service to the Indianapolis region.
